Once you find a builder that seems well priced, you should have a look through their floorplans of homes that will fit on your block and choose your favourite plan and facade. Most builders will allow you to make changes to their floorplans but this usually won’t be without extra costs. If you can’t find a floorplan you like or it won’t fit on your block, it’s probably time to move on to another builder or speak to them about a custom/modified design.


Construction time is another important factor, do you need your home built in a shorter timeframe? If this is the case you might be better suited towards a volume home builder. If you’re in no rush and budget allows you may want to consider a boutique or even custom home builder.
